17-Year-Old Arnav Thorat Becomes the Youngest Certified Biometrics Security Professional (CBSP) Worldwide
Oak Brook, IL – September 8, 2025 – CertFirst proudly announces that Arnav Thorat, a 17-year-old student from Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, IL, has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the youngest Certified Biometrics Security Professional (CBSP) in the world.
Arnav not only passed the rigorous, proctored CBSP exam, requiring a minimum score of 70%, but also excelled with an impressive 95% score, one of the highest results ever recorded. Traditionally, the CBSP credential is pursued by professionals in U.S. federal agencies such as the DHS, DoD, and U.S. Army, as well as by federal contractors including Northrop Grumman and Booz Allen Hamilton (BAH).
Arnav’s Drive to Excel
When asked about his motivation, Arnav shared:
“I am interested in pursuing Computer Science (CS) as my college major, and I wanted to explore how biometrics can minimize cyber threats and be integrated into cybersecurity solutions and secure application development.”
Arnav’s passion for learning and combating cybercrime has already placed him on a remarkable educational track. Currently, he is enrolled in the most complete Cybersecurity certificate program, Certified Cyber Cop (CertCop) program through a CertFirst scholarship, which includes some of the most advanced vendor-neutral cybersecurity certifications.
